In the aftermath of the Great War many companies found strength in merging with others having compatible interests and so it was with Siddeley Deasy and the Sir W.G. Armstrong Whitworth Engineering Company. Formed within this new grouping was  Armstrong Siddeley Motors Ltd with John D. Siddeley as Managing Director. The car and aircraft business of Armstrong Whitworth Co. would also move to Parkside.
