Do you own, or have knowledge of the Armstrong Siddeley utility vehicle?

Most of these vehicles were exported to Australia, but others found homes in many distant parts and one or two are even to be found in the UK.
In the current edition of our Heritage Trust magazine, and also as an item in the current Australian Club’s Sphinx magazine, we have published the first segment of an in depth research into the prototypes and rarer models produced of the post WWII Armstrong Siddeley cars. Not surprisingly therefore, we have started with the 16/18hp.range from 1945 to 1953. Part one concentrates on the Typhoon, and in particular the two prototypes which were given a fixed metal roof, an 18hp engine, and the Whitley style bonnet, radiator, and interior, making effectively a two- door, Whitley sports coupe.
Currently we are preparing the next part, which you may have guessed by our heading this month is a consideration of the utilities which Australian Armstrong Siddeley owners, through the appointed dealers, suggested to the company as an addition to the then current range. Two versions were made as shown in the advert pictured below.

If you own such a vehicle, have owned, or know of one, we would appreciate your contacting us. Pictures and history of how and where the vehicle has spent its life would be very helpful in enabling us to tell the purpose and achievements of this variant.
If you have already been in touch with Tony Carter in Australia or myself here in the UK, you have our grateful thanks.
