In Armstrong Siddeley circles there has been a sudden revival of interest in a body type which Parkside never produced, sparked off by the pictures shown above and below this paragraph. Despite many years researching Armstrong Siddeley car production the woody version of the 16/18hp. car came as a delightful surprise to us  As with all the post-war cars except the 234/236, the latest model introduced to the range was experimented with in design and construction as an estate, using outside coachworks, yet it always failed to join the company car sales options list.

In the Late 1940s and early 1950s, the immediate problems of the post war years were beginning to ease and there was a surge of interest in the shape of cars to come. The Armstrong Siddeley Styling and Development department was no exception. A recent gift to Heritage of a complete Styling and Development file for a new car dated 1947 confirms that. The opportunity to add to the established Armstrong Siddeley classic style, a vehicle very much in keeping with the then current trend, proved by the competition, was sadly missed.

Returning to the estate versions we have another version of the 16/18 hp range, dated 30th Aug. 1948, which was produced for evaluation.
