Three days earlier than the previous picture on the 23rd of July 1954, in another part of the factory car bodies were being prepared to meet the finished chassis. The title given to this photo in the factory records is 'buffing down' - pretty serious buffing judging by the tools.

It is nice that the cameraman captured effectively three generations of tradesmen. Judging by the patches and repairs to the dust coat of the gentleman to the left of the picture, one must wonder if this is really a job for bare arms and unprotected hands.
