This week take look at the Argosy being serviced.


Ladders, ladders, ladders; with no less than 12 men involved this could either be a major service, or possibly a quick turnaround in a tight timetable schedule. Looking at the different types of overall it would appear that Imperial Airways didn't have a workshop uniform.



Here we have six men seemingly to address one issue, I guess they all know what they are doing but it looks very precarious! The run of the exhaust pipes can clearly be seen, in most images they are very dark and blend in with rest of the engine, here they are almost white.


If todays Health and Safety brigade had issues with the working practices in the previous images this one would give them heart failure! Two of the men are dangerously close to the spinning propeller blades.
